- Julie is a social science strategist and ethnographer at Cooler Solutions. Julie has 15 years of experience conducting qualitative consumer research and developing organizational strategy in the healthcare, consumer products and criminal justice fields. She has a wide range of experience with clients in both the public and private sectors, with an emphasis on process assessment and culture change and a strong focus on client participation and experiential learning. Her academic work in healthcare communication and conversation analysis continues to provide a unique and innovative perspective from which to approach and understand healthcare interaction and service delivery.
Julie is currently completing her PhD in Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles, where her dissertation work applies the principles of healthcare communication to communication in the criminal justice system, in order to understand, evaluate and improve parolee outcomes. Her primary area of specialization is in qualitative methodology, including developing expertise in both ethnographic methods and conversation analysis and applying those methods to new environments and research questions.
