Biosync Thermostat

The Biosync programmable thermostat uses thermal efficiency formulas, differential temperature and biophilia to inspire and educate the home-owner towards a smaller energy footprint.

Most people use or have seen programmable digital thermostats that help regulate the use of power.  Cooler discovered through ethnography that most programmable thermostat devices are confusing to use and do not motivate people to develop greener habits. Biosync's ambient LCD interface displays energy efficiency information as nature imagery. When energy use is efficient, the interface displays inspiring nature imagery. When energy consumption exceeds thermal efficiency, the imagery is plants in a declining state of health — feedback that educates the home-owner that their actions directly influence the environment. As people strive for eco-friendly choices, Biosync informs them how their actions affect the environment, guides them to a comfortable temperature range and ultimately reduces their home's energy footprint.
